Visit of Lorenskogtrekkspillklubb to Norwich 2003 |
| A party of 17
accordionists and friends from the Lorenskog Accordion Club (near
Oslo) visited Norwich for the weekend of October 9th -12th. The
weather was kind and our visitors saw Norwich in its autumn glory.
On the Friday evening we gave a concert of contrasting type of
music: Dance and Folk Music from Norway and a mix of classical and
popular music from the Home Team. We had a session where we played
each other's music together and a Social Evening. They were able to
do a little sight seeing, sampled our Fish and chips and an early
Christmas dinner. |

Visit of Norwich Accordion Club to Lorenskog 2005 |
| A party of 20 accordionists and partners set out from Stansted on June 9th,
anticipating an enjoyable weekend in Oslo, and weren't disappointed. The first
evening we were treated to a dance Norwegian Style (and we taught them the Barn
Dance). It was a lively occasion (without the help of alcohol which is
prohibitively expensive there) and members from all groups joined in with
playing. Sightseeing the next day was followed by a concert. The third day we
had a 'Playing Together' session followed by a meal and sightseeing. In the
evening we were treated to a Norwegian meal and Social evening. Altogether a
fantastic weekend. |

Visit of Lorenskogtrekkspillklubb to Norwich
2006 |
|
A busy weekend was had by all 14th-17th September 2006. An early
morning flight into Stansted gave everybody plenty of time to unwind and
enjoy their visit to Norwich. Thursday afternoon was given over to
sightseeing, many taking the trip on the open top bus tours of the city.. We
were blessed with perfect sunny weather and not a drop of rain fell
all weekend thus showing Norwich at it's best. Thursday evening we all went
off to Dunstan Hall for a welcome meal and as usual this did not disappoint.
Friday morning was free for sightseeing and 'practice time'. On Friday
afternoon a group of us went to radio Norfolk for an interview with Chris
Goreham and play a few tunes. This went down very well. Friday evening was
our gala concert at Chapelfield Methodist Church. All the bands played
individually as well as some joint pieces. Music ranged from classical to
folk, show tunes to film scores. Over £700.00 was raised for the Norfolk and
Waveney Prostate Cancer Support Group. Many thanks to all who made this possible.
Saturday started with an informal 'play together session.' Always very
popular .Then onto Blicking Hall or to watch Norwich FC at Carrow Road. In
the evening we all had fun at a celidh with the various groups taking
turns in playing for the dancing. Sunday morning we had a delightful trip on
the broads setting off from Horning. Then some lunch in Wroxham and all too
soon time to bid farewell to set off for the evening flight from Stansted. |
